Admittedly there's about 70% of the market as Windows users but that main percentage remaining are Mac users whom are predominantly involved with Design in one way or another. I hope it does fair better than cygwin for portability. After all a great open source collection for Graphic Design would be: GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus and Blender; FontForge and Kompozer are there as alternatives later in my course, with Audacity, Avidemux and dvdstyler amongst a few others for a totally open source alternative to the mainstream tools in Graphic Design. I haven't tried it though. Also, it's bigger - a 12MB zip instead of a 7MB bz2. And it may not be kept up to date - currently it's about a month behind (with the latest cygwin build from 9 days ago). But at the bottom it does seem to have an auto patching thing. But I'm not trying it until at least when I get back home - mid February.
